Bottled Joy

What's with that title?  Am I about to tell you how much pure joy I have in my heart and that it has been bottled up for so long that I have to let it out?  Nope

Am I launching a new CBD oil store that promises to cure all your ailments and make you absolutely giddy with previously unleashed happiness?  Nope

It is this:

This is a one gallon capacity water bottle, and it has become my extra appendage of late.  I have always known that I do not drink enough water.  My dry skin, hair, and face tells me that, and I won't even begin to talk about the color of my urine because this is not a medical journal entry, and it is just TMI.  My drink of choice has always been the can of poison that is Diet Coke.  I love it so much!!  It is so toxic and unhealthy and as good as a box of donuts.  Well, good WITH a box of donuts. I admit to drinking way too much of the delicious elixir, and realized that it was beginning to affect me in ways I could actually see.  I know it is probably rotting my insides, but again, this is not a medical journal.

I have been paying extra attention lately to my face and my hair, both of which lean toward the dry side, with my hair deciding it would rather be on the bathroom sink and floor than on my head.  When I was younger and starting to go to the hair salon by myself, I used to puff up with pride whenever the stylist would say I have "fine" hair.  I thought that was a compliment.  Fast forward years later, and that FINE hair is trying to divorce me.  I am pretty sure that a hydrated scalp makes the hair that grows from it much more likely to stick around, so that is one reason I have decided to drink more water.  I even found this gem online to further verify what I already thought:

Drinking enough water can also help you get rid of dandruff and hair thinning problem. It is truly said that water is life. Not only our skin and health, but water promote hair growth too and tend to fight with other hair and scalp challenges.

I know not everything from the Internet is true, but this just makes too much sense not to be, so I am going with it.  As for my skin, water is definitely necessary and I have always known that, but just never was willing to put in the effort of constantly filling a normal water bottle multiple times a day.  I also know that water helps with weight loss, and with how our body systems work to keep us alive.  Knowing something and actually putting that knowledge into practice, however, is as different as night and day.

Enter Amazon.  I could write an entire post about my amazon love affair, but I will stick to this topic for now.  I wanted a bottle I would only have to fill up once per day with filtered water and because I actually do care about the environment and the impact of plastic straws, I also wanted a reusable straw that would be long enough to reach the bottom of my bottle.  Yes, my bottle is plastic, but is also certified BPA free, so I can refill it and drink safely.  In case you don't already know, Amazon has EVERYTHING!!!  I found this bottle, with a nice built in handle and a secure lid because knocking over a gallon of water in your car is not ideal.  I also found this reusable silicone straw (I have a pink and a blue one) that comes with its own brush cleaner because reusable means you have to wash it.  The bottle is great!!  It causes heads to turn, because it is gigantic, but there is no greater satisfaction when I hit my marks for the day.  Now, I do know that it is dangerous to drink too much water, but according to the charts, I need to drink half my body weight, which is about a gallon.  I don't drink that much everyday, and I try to only drink when I am thirsty.  If I don't finish the entire gallon, I am good with that.  My body knows what it needs, and I am not sitting at my desk guzzling just to hit a mark.  If I do that, I urinate all the benefits because it doesn't have time to do me any good.

Is it really Bottled Joy?  Well, it is when I am doing Morning Meltdown 100.  It is my absolute lifeline!  I still drink Diet Cokes.  I still love them, but I am not drinking near as many as I used to, and my hair and skin are thanking me.

If you already drink enough water, but would rather not fill and refill a bottle all day, I recommend this.  Just put it in the fridge if you don't finish it and it will be ready for the next day.  If you are like me, and know you need to drink more of life's most important nutrient, I suggest ordering something like this.  You also get the benefit of working on your biceps, because this thing is heavy when it is full.

Also, you can chew on the silicone straw without causing it any damage.  Just an FYI there.

Drink Up!!!
